Engineering is an evolving sector that needs engineers with a wide variety of knowledge and skills.

The postgraduate and undergraduate programmes cover various areas of the engineering sector – including non-destructive testing, electrical, electromechanical and mechanical engineering and lift engineering.

Undergraduate Engineering Programmes

This two year Engineering HND course will introduce you to the fundamental principles and concepts of engineering, along with knowledge and understanding of technical requirements and management issues. Once you finish the HND, you have the choice to top up your qualification to the full BSc, through our BSc Engineering (Top-up).

The Engineering BSc (Hons) course will equip you with the foundations and professional skills needed in modern engineering and related industries throughout a three year degree. Our staff have significant industrial experience and use the latest learning and teaching technology. IMechE accredited course.

The Engineering BSc (Hons) Top-up course will build on your previous studies at HND or FdSc level. This course will show you the influence that engineering has on the world and the contribution that you can make.

If you are already working in the lift engineering sector, our HNC course will develop your knowledge of the fundamentals of engineering, including mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic engineering design and analysis.

This Lift Engineering FdSc course delivery is flexible, in a modular format, taught online so that you can choose when to study to fit around your work and personal life. If you are already working in the lift engineering sector, our FdSc course will focus on learning the skills required in electrical and mechanical sciences and develop your mathematical skills associated with the lift and other engineering industries.

This two-year course will give you a solid grounding in subjects relevant to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and related industries. You will study all 12 of the compulsory modules online, at your own pace.

This course builds upon the ideas explored during the FdSc Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to increase knowledge and skills which will help you in your current job and increase your career prospects.

During this course you will study electrical and electronic engineering, design and simulation, computing and programming, control systems and embedded systems, as well as investigating sustainability and innovation within the industry and business practice.

The BEng (Hons) in Electromechanical Engineering covers a range of topics and associated areas, giving you the knowledge and skills expected of a modern engineer entering industry today. IMechE accredited course.

The BEng Mechanical Engineering is available to study full-time or part-time, with teaching delivered over multiple days each week. This is a flexible course, with many options to add even more value to your studies. IMechE accredited course.

Postgraduate Engineering Programmes

The Advanced Design and Manufacturing MSc addresses the complete life cycle of a product or process, from conception through to design and manufacture to disposal. This highly applied programme develops students’ knowledge and understanding of the scientific principles underpinning engineering in the field of design and manufacturing, and of the accompanying legal, ethical and professional considerations.

The course will benefit lift engineers and consultants as well as members of senior management in the lift industry. You will gain an in-depth understanding of advanced technical issues arising in lift design, maintenance and contract management. IMechE accredited course.

MSc Advanced Industrial Practice (NDT) is aimed specifically at those in positions of responsibly working in  NDT who want to develop their expertise within their current profession.

The minimum English language requirements for all International and EU students are:
